Summer has been more than a sunny sojourn at the beach for several of my friends. I want to share with you some of their amazing offerings and give you the “heads up” on a couple of my own so you can “save the dates.”
Heather Plett of Sophia Leadership has produced another wonderful e-book, free for you to download. Called “Writing to Impact Change,” this is a collection of tips from her friends and colleagues (including me!) set against the background of her beautiful photos. A real gem for writers and students of writing.
Kate Potter, the creator of the Namaste TV yoga series, is hosting an ayurvedic yoga event in Tuscany, Italy, October 15 – 22, 2011. I fell in love with Kate’s unique design and choreography of vinyasa yoga and breath links, so much so, that I’ve co-hosted her annually every spring at our local studio, Yoga for Today. After a year’s absence, Kate will be returning to us April 13-15, 2012.
Christina Baldwin and Ann Linea of PeerSpirit, will be coming to Edmonton next September 20- 24, 2012, to lead an intensive practicum in convening circle. For those of you familiar with the Art of Hosting orientation to group engagement and facilitation, this event will deepen your practice as you come to appreciate the nuance and dynamics of this ancient and foundational method. Together with Sandra Marin, I’ll be co-hosting this event at Strawberry Creek Lodge.
Chantal Normand and I will hosting our second “Living and Leading with Heart: A Women’s Weekend Retreat”, May 11-13, 2012 at Strawberry Creek Lodge, Alberta.
I’m jumping into the fire to host my first process painting workshops this fall. Called “Painting From Within: A Genus of Originality…Yours,” I’ve reserved space at Sherwood Park’s Ottewell Artists’ Studio for sixteen curious and playful people – no experience needed – who want to use paint, brush and paper to explore their intuition and creativity in the Point Zero method developed by Michele Cassou. Sundays from 9:30 am – 4:30 pm, October 23, November 27, January 22, culminating in a weekend workshop: Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday, February 24-26, 2012. I’m working out the details now.
